On the island of St. Lucia, a Friday-night ritual for locals and visitors alike is to head for the Gros Islet Jump-Up, the island's largest street party. Huge speakers are set up on the village's main street and blast out Caribbean music all night long. Sometimes there are live bands.
When you take a break from dancing, you can buy wonderful seafood, barbecued fish or chicken, rotis, beer, and soda from villagers who set up cookers right along the roadside. It's the ultimate "lime" experience.
We wanted to bring the spirit of the Jump Up street party to our monthly gatherings. So come join us for great music, great food and great friends.
